Looking for inspiration for a wedding dress for pear body shape? From pretty shoulder details to full skirts and fitted silhouettes, there’s plenty to try here.
I especially love the pointed waistlines and little floral accents.
You can keep things simple or go all out with a sweeping skirt. Your body shape doesn’t have to limit your choices, either.
Save the details you love and use them as a starting point for your dress appointments.
Wedding dress looks worth saving
scoop neckline and floral veil
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous scoop-neck dress. I love the simple straps and fitted waist with that gently widening skirt.
If you want a little extra detail, try a long veil with floral edging like the one here. It’s such a pretty addition to a plain dress.
wrapped shoulders and a full skirt
How pretty is this neckline? The wide folds cross over the bodice and wrap around the upper arms.
The full skirt keeps the rest of the dress free of extra decoration.

Try a little floral hair clip if you want to follow the styling here.
a sweeping shoulder wrap
Don’t want a big skirt and want something a little simpler? This narrow silhouette is worth saving.
I am in love with the wrap draped across the shoulders and down beside the dress.
sweetheart bodice and a long train
This gown may just be one of my favorites here. I love the curved sweetheart neckline and the little straps resting below the shoulders.
That full skirt and spreading train are gorgeous.
Keep your accessories simple if you want the shape of the dress to be the main detail.
floral sleeves and a folded bodice
If you love little floral details but don’t want them everywhere, this one is for you. The sheer patterned sleeves sit beside a folded bodice, with more floral detail peeking along the neckline.
The mostly plain skirt is such a pretty choice with those sleeves.
flutter sleeves and a ruffled slit
How cute are these flutter sleeves? The V-neckline and wide waistband keep the top fairly simple, then the ruffled skirt opening adds something a little different.
Save this one if you’d rather try a narrower skirt than a ball gown.
draped neckline and a high slit
I am obsessed with this off-the-shoulder look. The folds continue across the bodice right down to the waist, above a full skirt with a high slit.
At your fitting, try walking and sitting in a similar dress to decide where you’d like the opening to sit.
tiny straps and all-over flowers
The flower lovers are going to love this! There’s a subtle white floral pattern across the bodice and full skirt, with thin straps up top.
I especially love the pointed waistline. Add this photo to your appointment inspo if that’s a detail you’d like to try.
a pointed waist and sweeping folds
Here’s another view of the sweetheart gown shown earlier. Those deep skirt folds and the pointed front of the bodice are worth a closer look.
If you’re drawn to this shape, ask to compare a pointed waist with a straight waist seam during your appointment.
shoulder bows and tiny flowers
OMG, how pretty are these little shoulder ties? I love the scattered flowers and tiny bead-like details across the dress.
The visible vertical lines in the bodice are lovely beside all that decoration. I’d choose small earrings rather than add a necklace to this look.
crossed folds and an open skirt
This is another pretty off-the-shoulder idea, with crossed folds over the bodice and a high skirt opening. The narrow waist seam separates the detailed top from the plain skirt.
You could tuck your hair back if you want to keep the neckline on show.
scalloped sleeves and skirt tiers
If you are looking for lots of little details, then this one is for you. There’s a scalloped V-neckline, short patterned sleeves and a pointed bodice.
I love the layered skirt with its uneven tier edges. The small hair ornament is a lovely finishing touch too.
sheer high neckline
Don’t want to add flowers or sparkle to your dress? No problem!
Try this simple silhouette with a sheer high neckline above the curved bodice.

The drop earrings and neat bun look so pretty with it. I’d keep that same pared-back approach.
gathered straps and a draped front
The little gathered shoulder details are my favorite part of this dress. They sit above a draped neckline, with more folds sweeping across the waist toward the skirt opening.

If you love a closer-fitting look, this is a lovely one to bring along to your appointment.
square neckline and a sweeping skirt
This is such a pretty way to keep a bridal look simple. The square neckline and slim straps sit above a full skirt with a high slit.

A pair of statement earrings, like the ones shown here, would be my choice for dressing it up.
floral branches and billowing sleeves
I am obsessed with these sheer billowing sleeves. The floral shapes run across the sweetheart bodice and down the full skirt. There’s so much pretty detail here!
Save this one if you want flowers to be a big part of your dress rather than just a little accent.
long sleeves and a gathered waist
Looking for long sleeves without an all-over pattern? This one is for you.
The sheer sleeves gather into wide cuffs, while the deep V-neckline meets a band of narrow folds at the waist.
I love how the plain skirt lets those details stand on their own.
boat neckline and a flared hem
Don’t want to go overboard with the details? No problem there!
This sleeveless gown has a wide boat neckline and a fitted skirt that widens toward the floor.
You don’t have to choose a full skirt just because you have a pear-shaped figure. Try this closer silhouette too if it’s the look you love.
floral pattern and a low back
This fitted floral gown is gorgeous from both sides. I love the square front neckline and the low, curved back visible in the mirror.
The long veil has scattered floral accents too. Keep that detail in mind if you want your veil to echo the pattern on your dress.
square neckline and a pointed bodice
Last but definitely not least, we have this beautiful pointed bodice. I love the wide straps and square neckline!
The skirt gathers around the low V-shaped waist, with no extra decoration needed.
