Looking for advent wreath ideas with pretty candles, plenty of greenery or a little sparkle? There’s so much to love here, from burgundy bows to simple white tapers.
You’ll also find a few related Christmas decorations that aren’t Advent wreaths but offer lovely color and styling inspiration.
You can keep things simple or go all out. Pick your favorite details first! For your own display, keep flames clear of greenery and decorations. Flameless candles are a better choice for densely decorated or hanging arrangements.
Advent wreaths and Christmas details worth saving
burgundy candles and bows
We’re starting off strong with these gorgeous burgundy candles. I love the matching bows and little red baubles tucked into the blue-green branches.
If you want to follow this color combination, mix shiny red ornaments with glittery ones. Those dark burgundy leaf accents are worth keeping too.
champagne candles and little stars
How pretty is this neutral arrangement? The champagne-colored candles sit at different heights above a ring of branches and pinecones.
That glittery star at the front is my favorite detail!
Try a mix of bronze, blush and clear ornaments if you want something softer than bright red.
purple sparkle and pink
I am obsessed with the purple and pink pairing here. Three purple candles and one pink candle sit around an open center, with glittery leaves and purple pinecones between them.
Keep the pink accents close to the pink candle if you like this little cluster of matching color.
white berries and rounded leaves
If you are looking for something with a simple color palette, this one is for you. White pillar candles rise above rounded blue-green leaves and clusters of white berries.
I especially love how the leafy stems reach beyond the darker greenery. There’s no big bow competing with them.
gold flowers and cream bows
This floral wreath may just be one of my favorites here. I love the pale gold flowers beside the cream candles.
The little gold-colored sprays fill the gaps without hiding all the green.

Choose large cream bows with gold edging if you want to bring the same dressy detail into your arrangement.
muted candles and pale stars
Don’t want to stick to one candle color? No problem!
This arrangement mixes muted mauve, taupe and charcoal shades inside a broad ring of pale branches.
The bronze-colored baubles and little stars are so pretty beside the frosted-looking greenery. I’d keep that oversized brown bow too.
taupe tapers and loose greenery
Don’t want to go overboard with ornaments? Look no further because this leafy wreath is for you.
Four taupe tapers sit in white holders above a loose mix of narrow leaves, needles and twiggy stems.
I love the uneven edges. Let your greenery extend past the circle rather than aiming for a perfectly trimmed outline.
hanging wreath with red ribbons
If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this one is for you. Long red ribbons suspend the wreath, with oversized bows hanging down around the white candles.
The gold-colored number charms and open stars are such lovely little details. For your own hanging version, choose flameless candles and a properly rated hanging support.
white candles along a log
Want something other than a circle? This Advent arrangement lines up four white candles along a bark-covered log.
Little pinecones, patches of green and cinnamon sticks decorate the base.
I’d borrow this narrow layout for a long table, using flameless tapers rather than placing burning candles among the decorations.
little houses on a round tray
How cute are those glowing little houses? This is a Christmas tray display rather than an Advent wreath, with miniature trees, pinecones and a small silver-colored truck.

Save it for the cream-and-green color inspiration, or use a similar tray to gather your separate holiday decorations.
orange slices and striped bows
The striped bows are so cute against all those orange slices. These are decorative citrus wreaths without Advent candles, so they’re a related decorating idea rather than a four-candle arrangement.
I love the overlapping slices around each open center. A striped bow would be a fun alternative to the usual plain red one.
purple ornaments under stemmed glasses
This is such a playful way to display the four Advent candles. The white pillars read “Hope,” “Love,” “Peace” and “Joy,” with purple bands beneath the lettering.
Upside-down stemmed glasses reveal purple ornaments and ribbon underneath. If you want a similar decorative display, use flameless candles on stable supports.
green candles and red berries
I love this green-on-green arrangement. The four pillar candles sit in a mossy-looking base, with red berries and branching stems reaching around them.
Those oversized pinecones beside the wreath are a lovely extra touch. Try placing a few decorations outside your wreath rather than squeezing everything into it.
hanging baubles above the table
Who says all the Christmas decorating has to stay on the table? This overhead garland isn’t an Advent wreath, but the red berries and hanging ornaments offer plenty of inspiration.
I especially love the mix of pink, burgundy, white and gold-colored baubles. Try that combination in your wreath if you want more than one accent color.
cream candles and gold details
I am obsessed with this ornament-filled wreath. The cream candles sit along the back while pale baubles, gold-colored leaves and curled decorations fill the front.
Mix small ornaments with a few much larger ones to follow this look. Those oversized pale baubles are too pretty to hide.
white tapers and gold-colored loops
If you’re looking for a wreath without bows or clusters of baubles, go with something like this. Four white tapers rise from gold-colored holders above feathery greenery.
I love the thin gold-colored loops crossing around the outside. They give this simple wreath a detail all its own.
orange candles and citrus slices
The orange candles are such a pretty change from red. Dried-looking citrus slices repeat the color throughout the greenery, with pinecones and cinnamon sticks tucked between them.
Don’t forget the little gold-colored stars if you want a touch of sparkle. I’d keep the rest of the decorations in these same orange and brown shades.
white pillars on a broad slice
This is another lovely way to bring pinecones and orange slices into your display. Four white candles sit together on a broad bark-edged slice, leaving plenty of the base visible.
The little pale star at the front is my favorite part. There’s no need for a big bow when you have details like that.
green loops and pretend candles
How adorable is this candle-free craft? Green loops form the wreath, with little red berry shapes tucked around the edges.
Three purple sticks and one pink stick stand in for candles.

The yellow looped “flames” are such a cute finishing touch. Keep this version entirely pretend, just like the one shown.
branching candle stand
Last but definitely not least, we have this branching black candle stand. Three purple tapers and one pink taper surround a white center candle, with “Love,” “Joy,” “Hope” and “Peace” incorporated into the arms.
I love the simple wreath underneath. Pinecones, a few pale leaves and a small cluster of red berries leave the lettering easy to see.
