Looking for elopement ideas that feel like you? A mountain ceremony, a city hall kiss or a little cake for two gives you plenty to start with.
These pictures include places to say your vows plus flowers, outfits and ways to celebrate afterward.
You can keep things simple or go all out with a flower-covered arch. I especially love the picnic setups.
There’s something so sweet about making room for your favorite snacks on your wedding day!
Elopement details worth saving
vows with a mountain view
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous mountain ceremony. The couple holds hands beside their officiant, with snowy peaks and green slopes behind them. There isn’t a decorated arch in sight.

If you want a similar setting, check ceremony permissions before choosing your spot. I’d keep the decorations just as simple here.
a picnic basket for two
How cute is this little picnic? The basket doubles as a tabletop for gold-rimmed glasses, berries and cheese.
A white rose bouquet rests beside it on the blanket.
Pack your own favorite snacks for a post-ceremony version. Those tiny lights are a sweet detail to borrow too.
a city hall kiss
Don’t want to go all out with ceremony decorations? No problem!
This city hall portrait keeps things simple with a white long-sleeve dress, a dark suit and a pale bouquet held up in front of a kiss.

Ask your photographer for a picture beneath the city hall sign if your building has one.
white flowers and burgundy trails
I am obsessed with this floral arch. The white orchids across the top are gorgeous, plus those long burgundy strands make it a little different from an all-white arrangement.
Show your florist this picture if you love flowers that trail almost to the ground.
a lakeside picnic corner
This setup is actually for a proposal, with a little sign asking the question. But the white cushions, lantern and snack board are lovely inspiration for an elopement picnic too.
For your own version, swap the proposal sign for your names or leave it out altogether. I love the string lights hanging from the branches above.
portraits by a waterfall
If you are looking for a dramatic photo backdrop, then this one is for you. The waterfall fills the space behind the couple while tiny peach-colored flowers sit in the bride’s hair.

Ask a local photographer about an approved viewpoint where you can keep away from slippery edges.
a patterned loveseat outdoors
How fun are these pictures? Not gonna lie, the raised shoe makes this pose!
The orange patterned loveseat looks so cute with the rust-colored jacket and peach bouquet.
Try a few playful seated portraits if you’re bringing a loveseat into your setup. You don’t have to sit perfectly straight for every picture.
snowy forest portraits
I love these snowy trees with the white bouquet and long veil. The close-up pictures are just as sweet as the shot of the couple walking hand in hand.
If you’re planning winter portraits, bring outer layers and arrange a nearby place to warm up between pictures. The outfits shown here leave skin exposed.
burgundy and white flowers
This bouquet may just be my favorite one so far. I love the deep burgundy blooms next to the white orchid and tall calla lily.
The little branching stems reach out beyond the rest of the flowers.
Ask for an off-center shape like this if you don’t want a rounded bouquet.
a white convertible
Bring a little old-fashioned romance to your pictures with a white convertible. The round headlights and red seats are such pretty details beside the couple’s black-and-white outfits.
You could take portraits standing beside a similar car instead of sitting on it. I’d keep the long veil in the frame either way.
a flower-filled rowboat
If you love flowers, there is so much to save here. White blooms fill baskets and spill over the front of the boat, with pale cushions tucked around the seats.
The croissants and grapes make it look like a little picnic on the water. For a similar photo setup, keep the boat secured at the shore.
dinner overlooking the water
Who says a table for two has to be plain? This one has white flowers, amber-colored glasses and a pale runner that reaches the floor.
The water and cliffs behind it are gorgeous.
Try a smaller version with one flower arrangement and a few flameless candles if you want fewer things on your table.
a quiet shoreline portrait
Don’t want to add props or a big floral setup to your pictures? No problem there!
This couple stands beside the water with the dress train spread across the dry grass. The golden light is the detail I’d save this for.

greenery around the doorway
I am obsessed with this greenhouse-style setting. The pointed roof and open doors frame the couple, with greenery winding around the entrance.
There are little touches of color in the flowers by the doorway too. Save this if you want a garden feel without a separate flower arch.
a sunset sail
Want to take your celebration onto the water? This collage has plenty of sailboat inspiration, from close-up embraces to white outfits against the golden sky.
You could book a skippered sunset sail after your ceremony. Let the crew guide where you sit or stand rather than copying every pose in the pictures.
donuts with little diamonds
How adorable are these donut rings? The white diamond-shaped toppers turn simple glazed donuts into a wedding-themed display.
The yellow flowers beside them are such a cheerful extra touch.
For a smaller celebration, borrow the idea with just a few donuts on one plate.
sunflowers and hiking boots
This is one of my favorite little outfit details on the list. The brown lace-up boots peek out beneath the white dress, with mismatched illustrated socks above them.
The sunflower bouquet is so cute with this combination. Try your own favorite patterned socks if you want a detail that feels a bit more playful.
an instant-photo guest book
Having a few people join you? This guest book pairs instant photos with handwritten messages.
A camera and a cup of pens sit right beside the open pages.
If it’s just the two of you, you could use the same idea for a wedding-day scrapbook. Add a picture and write each other a little note.
portraits by candlelight
I love this close-up with the glowing candles across the table. The gathered sheer gloves and off-the-shoulder neckline are so pretty beside the dark suit.
Ask for a few seated evening portraits if you like this look. Flameless candles would be an option for your own setup, especially near loose sleeves.
a little cake with your date
Last but definitely not least, we have this sweet little wedding cake. I love the black date lettering against the white frosting! The piped border gives it decoration without needing a separate topper.
Ask your baker to use your own wedding date. A small white bouquet and two glasses are lovely finishing touches for the table.
